Reseacher handling sample bottles inside glove box for groundwater bioremediation testing.A new paper in Frontiers in Microbiology documents the use of Tersus Environmental’s TASK™ MicroEVO™ Self-Emulsifier in research on complex chlorinated-solvent contamination at Botany Industrial Park in Sydney, Australia.

Researchers at the University of New South Wales used MicroEVO™ with canola oil to prepare an emulsified vegetable oil electron donor for laboratory testing with site groundwater.

The study examines how contaminant mixtures, groundwater chemistry, and microbial communities influence the response to enhanced bioremediation—reinforcing the importance of understanding site conditions and treatment compatibility when designing an effective remediation program.
